The Lion Cub rank is the entry point in to the world of Scouting! With multiple indoor and outdoor activities for kindergarteners and their parents/guardians, adventure begins here!
In order to make rank, a Lion Cub must complete the 5 required adventures and at least 2 of the elective adventures. The required adventures are summarized below but can be found in much further detail in your Scout's handbook:
Lion's Pride - In this adventure, the Lions learn about their family by exploring the traditions and celebrations that make being part of their family special.
Fun on the Run - In this Adventure, Lions will explore the different food groups, have fun being active, and the importance of rest.
Lion's Roar - In this Adventure, Lions will learn about the “Protect Yourself Rules” and other skills needed to stay safe.
Mountain Lion - In this adventure, Lions and adult partners will take a walk to explore the outdoors. Along the way, they will see and identify things that are natural and things that are man-made.
King of the Jungle - In this adventure, Lions will explore how they can contribute to their home and community.
Beyond these required adventures, there are various elective adventures from the handbook that we include in our Scouting program that include activities like gardening, building and more while teaching the Lions the values in the Scout Oath and Scout Law. Each Lion is required to complete at least 2 of these electives to make rank.
For the 2024/2025 Scouting year, annual pack dues for the Lion rank total $50. Please see the Pack Treasurer, Nick Mead, to make full or partial payment.
After completing the Lion program, the Scouts will transition to Tiger Cubs, where they will have the opportunity to earn the Bobcat badge and continue their Scouting experience!
