How many times do we meet each month?
The dens meet 2 to 3 times each month to work with fellow Scouts to complete adventures and work towards their rank requirements. The dens meet together once a month for pack meetings and also for any pack outings that may occur. Pack meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every month.
How much does it cost to be a Cub Scout?
Our leaders work hard to keep the cost of joining our pack as low as possible. The majority of the pack expenses are covered by annual pack dues and popcorn sales. Annual pack dues include for the various costs of adventure loops, rank patches, miscellaneous awards, neckerchiefs and slides, and other supplies related to events over the Scouting year. Annual pack dues for the 2024/2025 scouting year vary by each specific den. Please visit your Scout's specific rank page here for annual pack dues amounts.
Certain pack outings will require additional costs that are not included in the annual pack dues. Some of these events include scout camps and summer outings. Separating these events from the annual pack dues helps keeps the dues affordable, as well as helps families that might not attend certain events from paying those related costs. Annual pack dues are collected every Fall while your scout is active in the pack.
Additionally, remember that your Cub Scout(s) will need a Class A uniform and a rank handbook. These can be purchased at either the Nashville Scout Shop at 3414 Hillsboro Pike, Nashville, TN 37215 or at the online Scout Shop at www.scoutshop.org.
What should my Scout(s) wear to a den and/or pack meeting?
Cub Scouts should wear their Class A uniforms to all pack and den meetings, unless otherwise instructed by pack leaders. For more active outings, like camping and hiking, Scouts should wear their Class B uniforms or other activity-appropriate attire, as instructed by pack leaders. Please always be aware of weather conditions for pack and den activities, and plan for additional clothing and supplies as necessary.
What do I need to do to make my Scout(s) successful?
The most important thing that parents/guardians can to do ensure their Scout's enjoyment of our program is being involved. When a Scout sees that their parents/guardians are actively involved in planning and carrying out den and pack activities, it helps reaffirm to the Scout that they are part of a pack. Being a member of a pack plays a foundational role in our Scouting program.
